How it works
Cubic feet = Length × Width × (Depth ÷ 12) · Cubic yards = Cubic feet ÷ 27. Fill dirt weighs roughly 1.25 tons per cubic yard (heavier when wet).
Example
A 10 × 10 ft area at 6 in deep is about 1.85 cubic yards (~2.3 tons).
Estimate how much fill dirt you need — in cubic yards and tons — for levelling, grading or filling low spots.
